Illustations of a Bookshop in Amsterdam Boekie Woekie
Coloured pencil, Markers on paper

Between 2021 and 2023, I created a series of drawings on square papers, each piece offering my personal interpretation of objects, space, and memories. These two works were created in 2023 as an extension of my practice from 2021-2022.
This illustration, created with colored pencils on paper, invites viewers into a constructed space—a room filled with objects. Each item in the composition is more than just a physical object; it represents a piece of personal memory, a fragmnt of color. The room, brimming with these collected items, becomes a metaphor for memory itself.
The objects serve as symbols of identity, each one carefully chosen to reflect moments of the past and evolving self-awareness. Highlights the complex relationship between material and color, using colored pencils to emphasize their significance. The room explores how the things we keep shape our sense of belonging, self-understanding, and connection to the world around us.
In a space where everything is personal, it encourages us to reflect on the objects that define our own lives, and how they become extensions of our identity.
